Plaça de Santa Anna, 21
The square known as Plaça Santa Anna, built in the eighteenth century, was the first large public square in Mataró. And today, it is still one of the nerve centres of the city. From that time, however, we are only left the church dedicated to the mother of Mary.
The most prominent element of this building is the baroque façade built in 1789 by the Piarist brother Josep Guàrdia, and characterised by a front of wavy lines overlooked by an image of the saint.
Inside the temple is the Chapel of the Sacrament with paintings by Jordi Arenas and sculptures by Jordi Puiggalí.
